New PhD Opportunities

We are seeking new PhD students to join our team beginning in Fall 2022. The topic areas are small scale experimentation and computational modeling of deformation processes in metallic systems. Desired background skills include experience with small scale testing (e.g., nanoindentation), electron microscopy (e.g., SEM/TEM), atomistic simulations (e.g., molecular dynamics), Python programming, and working with Unix/Linux-based systems.

Interested individuals are encouraged to send their curriculum vitae, transcripts (English Translations), the contact information for 1-2 references, and a brief description of relevant research background and interests (1-2 paragraphs) directly to the PI – Matthew Daly (mattdaly@uic.edu).
